The 2005 Chevy Silverado is still a daily workhorse with a lot of life left to give, but honestly, the factory audio systems in these trucks are one part that just feels ancient. This Crew Cab came to us for a much-needed radio replacement and speaker upgrade, and we were happy to come out and give the truck the upgrade it deserved!
We installed the Alpine iLX-F509, a floating tablet-style unit with a 9-inch HD display. It has wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, so the phone connects on its own without a cable, and the screen floats in front of the dash, which allows you to fit an even larger display than the dash trim would normally allow!
On top of the new radio, we added a SiriusXM tuner (SXV300V1), a dual USB port in the dash for charging, and brand new Audiofrog speakers in the doors. The Audiofrog G60S and G62 are a great option when you don't want to add an amplifier to the install, but you still want to have excellent sound!
The large screen and high-quality speakers breathed new life into this 2005 and added some much-needed creature comforts for a truck that will be driven daily.
